The Georgia Department of Labor reported a 2.8% unemployment rate in Gainesville for the month of May, a slight increase form last month.
This percentage is impacted by an increase in job opportunities of 300 and a decrease in the density of the Gainesville labor force, also reported by the Georgia Department of Labor.
Some other statistics from the report show that the number of unemployment claims has still dropped by 47 from last month, but there were still 479 less employed residents.
