TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) Jack Rye drove in two runs and Kevin Lynch threw four innings of hitless relief to lead Florida State to a 3-1 win over Virginia Tech in the Seminoles' Atlantic Coast Conference opener Friday night.<br>

Shane Robinson scored two runs and extended his hitting streak to 31 games as the Seminoles (22-4, 1-0 ACC) snapped a three-game losing streak.<br>

The Seminoles jumped out to a 2-0 lead over the Hokies (6-6, 1-4) when Rye drove in Robinson with a single in the first and a sacrifice fly in the third.<br>

FSU starter Barret Browning ran into trouble in the fifth, loading the bases with no outs and then walking in a run. But Lynch (5-0) came in and retired the next three batters to end the threat.<br>

Lynch struck out six and walked none in four innings. He allowed just one batter to reach base, that on a seventh-inning throwing error.<br>

Brant Peacher added an RBI double in the sixth to push the FSU lead back to two runs.<br>
<br>
Nicky Bowers (0-3) struck out seven, but gave up three runs on six hits in seven innings.<br>
