COAL MOUNTAIN, Ga. – North Forsyth took advantage of a slew of Wheeler miscues to come from behind and take the season-opening win, 25-21, Friday night at Raider Valley.
Darron Parry gave the Raiders their first lead with 8:13 to go in the fourth quarter on a 10-yard rushing score, his second rushing touchdown of the night, to make the score 25-21. A pair of interceptions by Wheeler sealed the win for North Forsyth.
Trailing 21-3, the Raiders quickly got back in the game in a span of just 12 seconds as Parry punched in a touchdown with 4:46 to go in the third quarter. After converting the two-point conversion, North Forsyth recovered an onside kick and scored on the next play as quarterback Tucker Lamb found Ethan Cahill for 27 yards and a touchdown that trimmed the lead to 21-18.
Parry finished the day with 22 rushes for 126 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Lamb was 6-fo-7 throwing for 75 yards and the touchdown to Cahill.
The Raiders will be back at home next week, playing host to Creekview.
