GAINESVILLE - The Phoenix Society of Gainesville early Thursday launched a month-long campaign to raise money for the Hall County Fire and Police Scholarship Fund.
The fund will provide college scholarships to the child of any local law enforcement officer or firefighter who is killed or disabled in the line of duty.
Donations can be made in the name of a friend of loved one - and those names will be placed next to the Rotary Tree near the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce office July 4, which is Sunday.
The tree has been decorated in red, white, and blue ribbons.
