Benton beats Elrod in State House race

ATALNTA - All the votes in the Republican Primary for State House District 31 - which includes a small portion of Hall County - have been counted, and Tommy Benton has defeated incumbent Chris Elrod.

Benton got 51 percent of the vote; his margin of victory was 66 votes.

Elrod had easily carried Hall County with 71 percent of the vote.
