GAINESVILLE - An alleged kidnapping at a Gainesville newspaper lands a Murrayville man in jail without bond.
Police Sgt. Nina Harkins said Jerry Dean Grizzle, 40, is charged with kidnapping after he abducted his ex-wife Tuesday from the parking lot of the Gainesville Times.
"The victim is an employee of The Times, she was there," Harkins said. "Her ex-husband showed up, they had a confrontation and he made her drive away from the scene."
Harkins added he was captured only a few blocks away.
"The vehicle was spotted by patrol officers on Green Street," She said. "A stop was made and the suspect was arrested."
Grizzle is also charged with simple assault, false imprisonment and stalking Thea Grizzle of Clermont.
He is being held in the Hall County Detention Center.
