NE Georgia under flash flood watch

By by Ken Stanford
UNDATED - A flash flood watch is in effect for Hall and twelve other northeast Georgia counties Friday morning as more heavy rains are forecast for most of the next 24 hours.

In addition to Hall, the watch area includes Habersham, Rabun, Banks, Dawson, Fannin and Forsyth counties. Also, Gilmer, Lumpkin, Pickens, Towns, Union and White.

The National Weather Service says rainfall by midnight, when the watch is to expire, could total 2-to-4 inches in places.

More rain fell during the night in Gainesville, bringing the monthly total to at least five inches - making this the wettest month so far this year.
