Two NE Georgia counties added to ARC growth program

ATLANTA - Two northeast Georgia counties are now included in the Atlanta Regional Commission's (ARC) "smart growth" program.

Forsyth and Barrow are among eight counties around metro Atlanta added to the program, bringing to 18 the number now included.

The program focuses on improving air quality by ecouraging less driving. Participating counties are eligible for grants designed to make them more pedestrian-friendly.
