UNDATED - A veteran state lawmaker from Barrow County will not be running for re-election this year.
Representative Warren Massey, a Republican, is barred from running again because he has been named by Governor Sonny Perdue to a judgeship on the State Workers Compensation Board.
Massey has been in the State House eight years.
Meanwhile, Democratic state Representative Jimmy Skipper, a 14-year House veteran from Americus, says he also will not run for re-election.
Skipper said Thursday he wants to devote more time to his law practice and family.
