The Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club recently installed a stability dock at Lake Lanier Olympic Park.

LCKC Executive Director Kim Martin explained the new addition will make paddling onto the water more accessible for younger club members or those with disabilities.

“We are so excited and so thankful for this dock," Martin said. “…[ The dock] is going to allow people to get on the water and feel safe and be able to enjoy nature and paddling as a sport and a hobby.”

The stability dock holds canoes and kayaks in place and allows users to safely enter their boat without the risk of falling in the water. Once inside, users are able to pull their boat into the lake using their paddle.

The LCKC offers a variety of recreational programs for children and adults alike. The non-profit also offers opportunities to compete in the sport. To learn more about its programming, click here.
