The City of Gainesville will close Main Street between Spring and Broad streets in downtown Gainesville later in the week due to an event atop the Main Street Parking Deck.
The roadway will be closed from 7:30 a.m.- 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, and from 7:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 6. The parking deck will remain accessible at both entrances, but parallel parking spaces next to the deck will be unavailable during the closure.
The city reminded those traveling in the area to drive carefully, watch for pedestrians, city personnel and equipment during this time.
