A Gainesville woman was recently arrested for allegedly using a family member’s debit card several times without authorization.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said Dioscelin Merlin Fernandez, 24, was arrested at an Oakwood hotel on April 7 after investigators learned she used the card over one week to make purchases and get cash. The purchases totaled $467.11.
The crimes were reported on March 18 after the victim stated her bank notified her that her debit card was being declined for a transaction.
The victim believed someone had stolen her card number because she had the card with her.
An arrest warrant for felony financial transaction card fraud was taken on Fernandez on April 3.
She is in the Hall County Jail with a bond of $5,700.
