WDUN radio host Martha Zoller was recognized by the White Rose Society for her advocacy for the Nation of Israel during The Martha Zoller Show Wednesday morning.
Zoller was joined in studio with White Rose Society founder Linda Selig, Consul General of Israel for the Southeast Anat Sultan-Dadon and Dov Wilker from the American Jewish Conference as she was presented with the White Rose Award.
Selig explained the Atlanta-based organization presents the White Rose Award to individuals who are actively speaking out on behalf of the Jewish community. The name of the society references a non-Jewish resistance group formed by University of Munich students in 1942 that encouraged their classmates to speak out against oppression towards Jewish people at the time.
“Our whole mission is to say thank you and to show gratitude,” Selig said. “Not everybody is like Martha, but Martha is like the epitome of what we're trying to say. Her vocal support just is very meaningful for our community, and really makes us feel that we are not alone and that we have friends and allies.”
The organization has recognized over 100 individuals for their support for the Jewish community. Other recipients include Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, University of Georgia President Jere Morehead, and Gainesville-based Free Chapel Pastor Jentezen Franklin. Zoller was nominated for the award by Sultan-Dadon for using her platform to bring attention to the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.
“I am humbled to be honored by the White Rose Society,” Zoller said. “The work I have been able to do to raise awareness on the rise of antisemitism and keeping the focus on the release of the hostages taken on October 7th, including 12 Americans, has been some of the most important work I have done in my life. I thank the Jacobs family and WDUN for fostering and developing an outlet where free speech is practiced daily.”
