The Hall County Tax Commissioner’s Office is slated to issue property tax statements next month.
According to a press release from the tax commissioner’s office, statements will be mailed in early September with a due date of Nov. 15.
"Our robust website is a convenient resource for property tax information," said Hall County Tax Commissioner Darla Eden. "The site makes it much easier to find out what you owe, how to pay, and who to contact with questions."
For properties that changed hands during the year, the owner on Jan. 1 is responsible for the year’s property tax.
For properties purchased after Jan. 1, it is the buyer and seller’s responsibility to work out who will pay the owed tax.
The United States Postal Service (USPS) delays are still impacting the Hall County Tax Commissioner’s Office and other government agencies.
The Hall County Tax Commissioner’s Office encourages residents to utilize the online payment portal at https://hallcountytax.org.
"Our office is dedicated to offering a range of payment options that cater to our community's needs.” Eden said. “I encourage property owners to utilize our many convenient tools to ‘save a trip and skip the line.’”
The tax commissioner’s office also reminded citizens that if you own property within the city limits of Gainesville, Flowery Branch, Buford, or Oakwood, you will receive a separate city tax bill from that municipality in addition to the Hall County property tax statement.
