The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia has formally appointed Juan Cueto to the role of president and executive director of the organization.

Cueto, who previously served as the center’s interim CEO following Allison Mayfield’s resignation, brings over thirty years of experience in the nonprofit sector to the organization.

“We look forward to working closely with Juan as we strengthen our message and purpose,” Ed Schrader, chairman of the shelter’s board of directors, said. “He has already proven himself as an exceptional leader who is aligned with our mission-driven philosophy, making him the ideal ambassador of our organization. As we navigate unparalleled challenges in animal welfare and look forward to future opportunities to expand our mission, we are confident Juan is the best person for the job.”

Prior to joining the shelter, Cueto served as chief executive officer of Atlanta Hospital Hospitality House, which acts as a resource for patients and caregivers who require support while receiving medical treatment in Atlanta.

“We are confident in Juan’s dedication to our organization and look forward to the new heights we will reach through his leadership, passion and sincerity. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have him move into this role on a permanent basis,” said Shrader.
