Two Northeast Georgia Medical Center Barrow staff members were recently recognized at the Northeast Georgia Region 10 Emergency Medical Services Directors Association Awards Banquet for their work in the field.

Carli Cuendet was awarded Paramedic of the Year while Bob Fisher was awarded Emergency Medical Technician of the Year. The two have over 50 years of combined experience in their respective careers.

“Having such tenured EMS providers on our team is a true benefit to this entire region,” John Neidenbach, administrator for NGMC Barrow, said in a release. “Both Carli and Bob demonstrate our core values and core competencies every day, so they’re very deserving of these awards.”

Cuendet, who has worked as a paramedic for 28 years, currently works out of Auburn. Fisher is currently based in Statham and has served as an EMT for 27 years. Both Cuendet and Fisher have been with NGMC for three years.

“These two come to work with such great attitudes every day, and that carries over to the teams they work with,” Erick Giraldo, director of EMS at NGMC, said. “I admire their dedication and service to the community and am pleased to see them recognized in this way.”

NGMC Barrow joined the Northeast Georgia Health System in 2017. Since then, the hospital has handled all ambulance transports in Barrow county, per an agreement between the health system and county officials.

NGMC Barrow was also recently named the state’s Small Hospital of the Year by the Georgia Alliance of Community Hospitals
