The teenage boy accused of shooting and killing four people in a Barrow County high school last September has now changed legal counsel.
Barrow County Superior Court documents show that Latoya Williams from the Georgia Public Defender Council filed on Tuesday, July 1, to substitute as counsel for Colt Gray in his criminal trial. Williams replaces Alfonso Kraft, Jr., who had been representing Gray since last year.
There was no indication given in any court documents as to why Gray, age 15, changed counsel.
Gray faces dozens of charges, including multiple counts each of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and first-degree cruelty to children. The September 4, 2024 shooting left two student and two teachers dead and nine other people injured at Apalachee High School south of Winder.
