The start of Spring for 2024 is also starting to show signs of higher gas prices for Georgia's commuters.
AAA of Georgia's website shows the average price for unleaded regular gasoline is now at $3.35 per gallon. That's up 15 cents from the average price one week ago, and 19 cents higher than the average one month ago.
Montrae Waiters of AAA says the traditional transition from Winter to Spring, along with the switch to summer blend gasoline and rising costs in crude oil are all contributing factors behind the increase.
As of Tuesday morning, the average price for unleaded gasoline in Hall County was $3.32 per gallon, with the highest average cost throughout Northeast Georgia found in Lumpkin County at $3.38 per gallon, and the lowest average price in Towns County, at $3.12 per gallon.
Nationwide, the average price for gasoline sits at $3.46 per gallon, an increase of seven cents from one week ago. A link to the AAA website for average prices can be found, here.
