Commencement ceremonies at University of North Georgia set for today and Thursday

The season for college graduation commencement ceremonies is in full stride this week. One area institution is honoring thier 2025 graduates with ceremonies for Wednesday and Thursday.
 
The University of North Georgia's (UNG) Dahlonega campus will be the location for two days of ceremonies, expected to bring thousands of family and friend of graduates to the area.
 
Lumpkin County's Sheriff's Office is reminding commuters to please be prepared and plan on increased traffic for the next two days.
 
UNG's commencement ceremonies will be held during the following dates and times:
 
Wednesday May 14th: Approximately 8:00am -6:00pm
Thursday, May 15th: Approximately 8:00am – 9:00pm
 
UNG is anticipating approximately 4,000 guests per ceremony, resulting in a significantly increased traffic volume and congestion along Morrison Moore Parkway during these periods. Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office asks area residents and commuters to plan according and be patient during these ceremonies.
