Commuters in Georgia are MARCHing into the early springtime with a hike in gas prices.
Georgia drivers are paying an average price of $3.20 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline during the first full week of March.
AAA of Georgia's website shows that Monday's state average is seven cents more than a week ago, 17 cents more than a month ago, and six cents more than at the time last year. Georgians are now paying almost one dollar more to fill a 15-gallon tank at the pump compared to a year ago.
Montrae Waiters of AAA says, “Two factors appear to be impacting prices at the pump- we are entering Spring Break season, so demand has picked up, and crude oil continues to rise. AAA encourages drivers to follow the money-saving gas tips listed below.”
Hall County commuters are seeing an average price near $3.18 per gallon as of Monday morning, while the most expensive average price in Northeast Georgia is in Lumpkin County at $3.24, with the least expensive average in Hart County, at $3.01.
