Gwinnett County authorities arrest teen in Duluth fatal shooting

Gwinnett County authorities recently arrested a teenager in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Saturday morning in unincorporated Duluth.

In an update released Friday morning from the Gwinnett County Police Department, the agency said a 16-year-old juvenile suspect is facing criminal charges following the death of Elbert "Josh" Brown, 17, of Snellville.

The agency said the teenage suspect was identified on Tuesday. That suspect's name and charges were not released. The agency said they are investigating the incident as an accidental shooting.

Police previously told AccessWDUN they initially responded at about 2 a.m. Saturday to a report of a shooting victim who had arrived at Northside Hospital Duluth. 

Police determined that the shooting happened in the parking lot of 4500 Satellite Blvd in unincorporated Duluth. Brown was listed in critical condition as of the last report.
