Gwinnett County Police searching for suspect in a Duluth homicide

Gwinnett County police responded to a report of a shooting during the overnight hours on Saturday morning.

Officers responded to Northside Hospital Duluth at 2:15 a.m. on January 27, regarding a person who had been shot. 

After an investigation, they learned that the shooting happened in the parking lot of 4500 Satellite Blvd in Duluth.

Officers then secured the scene in the parking lot where detectives and crime scene investigators responded. 

Detectives were notified that the victim had died late Saturday night.

The victim was brought to the hospital by friends and has been identified as 17-year-old Elbert “Josh” Brown of Snellville.

The circumstances of the shooting are still under investigation and no suspect is in custody.

Homicide detectives are currently investigating the incident.
