Arson is suspected from a Lawrenceville fire from June 27 according to officials.
According to Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services, firefighters responded to a home on Clairidge Lane at around 6 a.m. on June 27.
The 9-1-1 caller reported a fire alarm sounding and a smell of smoke. They evacuated the home until the fire department’s arrival.
The fire was reportedly out upon arrival and no one was injured, but officials said arson is suspected after finding an incendiary device behind the home.
They say that this is an active arson investigation.
“Arson is a serious felony crime that places lives in danger and is punishable by imprisonment and associated fines. Gwinnett County Fire Investigators are seeking the public’s help in bringing those responsible to justice,” a release from Gwinnett County said.

No other information is being released at this time due to the investigation being active and ongoing.
