The Gwinnett County Police Department (GCPD) is looking for a missing 7-year-old boy who was allegedly taken by his mother.

GCPD reports that the police department was called on Tuesday to Valley Bluff Lane in Snellville.

Officers report that Michelle Marks, the boy’s mother, lost custody of him while they were living in Oklahoma last year due to alleged child neglect.

The boy was placed in the custody of his father in Georgia.

Michelle was reportedly in Georgia to visit her son, and during the visit family members told police that they overheard her make several threats of self-harm if she completely lost custody of her child.

The boy’s father told police that Michelle took her son during the middle of the night after the threats were made.

Investigators then obtained kidnapping warrants for Michelle, who also has several warrants for arrest in Oklahoma.

Police report that she has used various aliases and is listed at 5-feet, 3-inches tall and weighs 140-lbs.

The son is listed as 4-feet, 11-inches tall and weighs roughly 90-lbs and was last seen wearing a red long-sleeve thermal shirt with white lettering and jogging pants.

Gwinnett officials are working with federal authorities to locate Michelle and her son, and they say it is possible she left the state with her child.
