A man was arrested on Friday, Oct. 18 during a traffic stop on Highway 76 near Walgreens in Hiawassee.
The Towns County Sheriff’s Office said on facebook deputies searched the vehicle of Jason Wallace Lanius, 53, of Hiawassee, after probable cause was developed.
Deputies uncovered a substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Lanius was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, possession and use of drug-related objects, suspended registration and open container violation.
