2-vehicle wreck near Jaemor Farms sends 3 to hospital

By Christian Ashliman Anchor/Reporter

A two-vehicle wreck Tuesday afternoon left three people with injuries when a driver turning out from Jaemor Farms was rear-ended by a northbound vehicle.

At approximately 12:47 p.m. a 2010 Jeep Liberty driven by Eric Goodnight, of Gainesville, turned right onto Ga. 365 from Jaemor Farm Road, heading northbound. Goodnight reportedly performed an improper turn by immediately entering the left lane, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

A second vehicle, a 2016 Chrysler 300C driven by Renee Jackson, of Cornelia, was unable to stop in time and collided with the back left corner of the Jeep.

Upon impact, the Jeep rotated counterclockwise and began to overturn. It eventually came to “an uncontrolled final rest” in the gore area of the southbound lanes on Ga. 365, the GSP said Tuesday.

The Chrysler came to a final rest on the east shoulder of the northbound lanes.

Both drivers and a passenger in Goodnight’s vehicle were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the wreck.

Goodnight has been charged with improper turn and improper lane change, authorities said.
