A single vehicle wreck in Franklin County Thursday morning left three people with serious injuries.

Georgia State Patrol troopers responded to the scene on I-85 near mile marker 162 at 2:41 a.m.

An initial investigation of the accident revealed a 2024 Toyota Sequoia traveling south on the interstate had partially exited the east shoulder, then re-entered the roadway. The vehicle then  rotated counterclockwise before overturning multiple times, striking a cable barrier on the east shoulder on the roadway. The Sequoia came to an uncontrolled rest in the median facing northbound.

A 16 year old passenger was life-lifted to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, Ja Nai Sharde-Marie Keller, 35, of Loganville, was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with serious injuries. A front passenger, Andre Jerod Nelson, 42, of Baltimore, Maryland, was also transported with non-life threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
