Forsyth County Sheriff's Office: Ferrari clocked at 178 mph on GA-400

By Austin Eller News Director

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office has warned the public to stick to area speed limits after clocking a Ferrari traveling at almost 180 mph on GA-400.

According to a Facebook post from the agency for "Super Speeder Saturday," the Ferrari was driving southbound out of the county on the roadway when a deputy clocked the vehicle at 178 mph.

The agency did not release details on whether the driver was caught or charged after the incident.

"There are no justifiable reasons for going that fast," the agency said in the post. "Even if you aren't concerned about your own safety, you are putting others at risk if something goes wrong. Slow down because next time, spike strips won't care how fast you're going."

The State of Georgia's website describes a super speeder offense as one in which a driver is ticketed for traveling 75 mph or faster on a 2-lane road or 85 mph or faster on other roads or highways.
