A Tiger man was arrested in Rabun County after he reportedly attempted to force a woman into his truck while armed with a crossbow on Monday.
The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office said in a release on social media that the man, later identified as Jack Thomas Harkins, 34, of Tiger, approached the victim, who was walking her dog on Bear Gap Road near Minnehaha Falls. Harkins then pointed a crossbow at the woman and ordered her in his truck. The victim fled from the scene and reported the incident, describing the vehicle as a grey/silver Ford F-150 pickup truck.
RCSO deputies were called to the scene and searched for the man. The department's Criminal Investigations Unit and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation collaborated to identify Harkins as the subject.
Officials with the agencies then arrested him on Thursday. He remains in the Rabun County Detention Center, but the case remains active.
