By Austin Eller News Director

A Buford man is wanted on insurance fraud and forgery charges after an investigation by state insurance officials.

According to a press release from Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King, warrants were taken out against Salvatore Arzillo, 52, on Monday.

The agency said Arzillo allegedly opened a claim in September 2021 with Auto Owners Insurance Group alleging lightning had damaged his property. He then allegedly submitted several invoices for repair costs and replacement items in an attempt to collect more than $18,000.

"Investigators determined that Mr. Arzillo altered the invoices and the work claimed on the invoices was never completed," the press release said.

No other details were released.
