By Caleb Hutchins Assistant News Director

Four people have been hospitalized with one in critical condition after Gainesville police officials say they overdosed at a motel Sunday.

Gainesville Police Lt. Kevin Holbrook said authorities were called to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville at around 3:30 p.m. Sunday where four Hispanic males had been dropped off passed out. Their conditions were determined to be caused by overdoses on undisclosed substances.

Holbrook said investigators determined that the four had been at the Motel 6 on Athens Highway prior to the overdoses.

No other details on the case have been released and Holbrook said the incident is still under investigation.
