The Hall County Sheriff's Office arrested a Flowery Branch man Wednesday on over 1,000 child pornography-related charges after he was allegedly found in possession of hundreds of images of child pornography.

According to a press release from the agency, Joshua Rivers, 40, faces 1,211 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Investigators executed a search warrant Wednesday morning at Rivers' home on Spring Lake Drive, where they seized about 15 of his electronic devices. They then arrested Rivers at sheriff's office headquarters following an interview.

Rivers allegedly had hundreds of images of child pornography saved to multiple devices in his home. He was accused of committing the offenses over an eight-month period between Sept. 1, 2022, and the day of his arrest.

The investigation into Rivers began on April 13, 2023, when law enforcement received a cybertip about Rivers' alleged online activity from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. After the execution of the search warrant, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit processed the electronic devices seized from Rivers' home.

The HCSO and Georgia ICAC Task Force continue to investigate the case, and additional charges are possible.

Rivers' remained in the Hall County Jail without bond as of Thursday morning.
