No injuries were reported after a Hall County Schools bus was involved in a car accident Tuesday afternoon off McEver Road in Gainesville, according to officials.

Georgia State Patrol responded to the incident around 5:00 PM, Public Information Officer Franka Young with the Department of Public Safety said in a release Wednesday.

The driver of a pickup truck was travelling southbound on McEver Road when the vehicle failed to maintain its lane, crossed the centerline, and sideswiped a Hall County, Chestatee High School bus travelling northbound.

“The [pickup truck] travelled onto the east shoulder, struck an embankment, and then overturned,” Young said. “Neither driver was injured and there were not students on the school bus.”

The bus sustained damage to the rear passenger tire and wheel, according to Director of Transportation Clay Hobbs with the Hall County Schools System.
