The Georgia gas price average for unleaded gasoline at the pump is trending upward this week. Georgia drivers are now paying an average price of $3.06 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline, as of today (Monday, December 4).
AAA of Georgia's website reports Monday's state average is 27 cents more than a week ago, 14 cents more than a month ago, and 9 cents more than this time last year.
The reinstatement of Georgia's gas tax and rising prices of crude oil are main factors behind the increase, according to Triple-A's Montrae Waiters.
Hall County commuters should see an average price at around $3.04 per gallon, while the lowest average in Northeast Georgia is in Stephens County at $2.94, as of Monday.
Nationwide, AAA shows the average price for gasoline sits at $3.24 per gallon.
