A Towns County Deputy was injured after accidentally shooting himself in the leg on Saturday while sitting in his patrol vehicle.
According to a social media post from the Towns County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Bryan Forsyth was inspecting his backup weapon and accidentally discharged it.
Deputy Forsyth was sent to a hospital in the area with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office said the incident is being reviewed for departmental policy violations, but none have been found at this time.
