A woman was arrested and a man is still at-large following a month-long drug investigation in Towns County.
According to the Towns County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO), investigators obtained a search warrant for a residence on Bugscuffle Road on May 21. During that search, they report they found methamphetamine that field-tested positive along with “multiple types” of pills.
40-year-old Laurel Taylor Lambert of Hayesville, North Carolina was arrested on Tuesday on a charge of felony possession of meth.
Arrest warrants were issued on May 21 for 48-year-old Jason Levon Garrett of Hiawassee for felony possession of meth, felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, three felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug-related objects.
Towns County Sheriff Ken Henderson said that during the investigation, it was revealed that Garrett had been dealing drugs from his residence for at least three months.
Garrett is still at-large on those active warrants. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact TCSO or 9-1-1.
