Two Gainesville men arrested for drug trafficking

Two Gainesville men were arrested on Monday after authorities found about $27,000 worth of illegal drugs in their possession.

According to a press release from the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office, Joshua Maney, 33, and Alex Johnson, 32, were arrested as part of an investigation into a drug trafficking organization. ARDEO said the organization was involved in the sale of pressed fentanyl pills.

Officers with ARDEO, the Hall County Sheriff's Office, the Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office and the Georgia National Guard Counter Drug Task Force executed a search warrant Monday at 3155 Lake Ranch Drive in Gainesville.

During the execution of the search warrant, authorities seized 102 grams of pressed fentanyl pills, five pounds of marijuana, two canisters of THC cannabis concentrate, 71 THC vape cartridges, 15 firearms and over $40,000. 

Maney and Johnson were both charged with trafficking a schedule two controlled substance, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a schedule one controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during certain crimes. Johnson was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
