The Arts Council will host a free event and circus music concert on Saturday, July 19, at the Smithgall Arts Center.
A press release from the Arts Council stated that the event will begin at 4 p.m. with a mix of family-friendly activities and food options. The Windjammers Unlimited concert will follow at 7 p.m. Admission is free, but tickets are required for some activities.
Activities include a dunk tank featuring Gainesville Mayor Sam Couvillon, inflatable bounce houses, carnival-style games like ring toss and balloon pop, and face painting. Food options include boiled peanuts, pork rinds, corn dogs, funnel cakes, fried Oreos, cotton candy, popcorn, nachos, lemonade, sodas and popsicles.
The event is part of the Peach State Bank Summer Music Series. Sponsors include Big Peach Running Co., Hall County Lacrosse, Jackson EMC, Mincey Marble Manufacturing, and Treesort Luxury Apartments.

Windjammers Unlimited, founded in 1971, is a national nonprofit dedicated to preserving traditional American circus music. The group gathers annually in cities across the United States to perform music once heard under the “Big Top.” Notable members have included Merle Evans, who directed music for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus for over 50 years.
