Five people were injured Monday morning in a Hall County accident. The accident shut down Highway 53 near Sundance Drive for most of the busiest commute times. Wet road conditions may be to blame.
The Georgia State Patrol says that a Chevrolet Colorado traveling east on Dawsonville Highway around 7:20 a.m. lost control on the wet roadway and began to spin counterclockwise. The driver lost control and spun across the centerline. A Toyota Camry traveling in the opposite lane couldn’t avoid hitting the truck.
There is no word on the conditions of the five people taken to the hospital.
The driver of the truck, Honorio Atlahua Temoxtle, 19, has been charged with failure to maintain lane, driving while unlicensed and for having no proof of insurance.
