GBI releases video of man wanted for Commerce murder

Six months later, the GBI is still seeking the public’s help in identifying a man wanted for a murder that occurred on Jan. 6 at a Dollar General in Commerce.

Upon arriving at the scene, police found brothers, Phillip Smith and Billy Smith from Lula, shot outside the Dollar General at 45 B. Wilson Road. Billy was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect in the shooting left the scene in a dark-colored smaller SUV on B. Wilson Road towards Highway 15.

The unknown suspect in the murder is described as a light-skinned male wearing a long sleeve black shirt, black shorts, and tan shoes. The suspect has dark-colored hair and was wearing a mask at the time of the incident.
