Softball: Branch, North Hall take region wins

RABBITTOWN — Flowery Branch rallied to beat East Hall 3-2 in extra innings on Tuesday in a key Region 8-4A contest at East Hall Park.

The Lady Falcons (5-2, 1-1 Region 8-4A) trailed 2-0 after the third inning on a two-run triple from Callie Dale. Branch pulled to within 2-1 on a RBI groundout from Zoe Hadaway in the fourth and tied the game on a RBI groundout by Alyssa Wagner.

It stayed a pitcher’s duel from there as the Lady Falcons’ Nikki Harris and East Hall’s Calli Hardison were dominating. Harris took the win for Flowery Branch. The pitcher surrendered two runs on ten hits over eight innings, striking out 11 and walking one.

Harris got the win going the distance scattering 10 hits and one walk while striking out 11.

Hardison took the tough loss for the Lady Vikings (4-2, 0-2 Region 8-4A) giving up just six hits and walking one in eight innings and fanning three.

Gracie Ausborn had three hits and Hardison, and Brooke Hewell each had two hits to lead East Hall. Alexis Burce and Ansley Ivey both had one hit for the Lady Vikings.

Mak Davis had two hits for Flowery Branch. Casey Beaver, Savannah Rutledge, and Ciera Poole all had one hit for the Lady Falcons.

North Hall knocked off the Lady Spartans in five innings on Tuesday in Region 7-3A action at the North Hall Softball Complex.

Emily Hudson got the win going four innings allowing just one hit and striking out four. Emily Hlavacek pitched the final inning to preserve the win.

Anna Reeves led the North Hall offense with three hits, including a triple, and driving in a pair of runs. Olivia Mulling 2-had two hits, including a home run, and KB Seabolt had a hit and two RBI for the Lady Trojans.
