Softball: Rains wash out key region showdowns

By AccessWDUN Staff

Several big region contests were slated for Wednesday but were washed out by rains that rolled through the northeast Georgia area.

The biggest game of the day was in Region 6-3A where Dawson County trtaveled to Lumpiin County. The Lady Indians (6-1, 3-0 Region 6-3A) sat atop the standing with the Lady Tigers (7-2, 1-1 Region 6-3A) in fourth place.

Lumpiin County led 3-1 with one out in the top of the fourth when play was suspended. The game was eventually called and the two teams will have to start all over at a later date.

In Region 6-6A, North Forsyth was supoosed to play host to rival South Forsyth in a doubleheader in both teams' region openers. But those games were also called off. No make up date has been announced.

North Forsyth will play host to rival South Forsyth in a doubleheader in both teams' region openers.
