BUFORD — Buford stayed perfect on the young season after taking a 3-0 win over Alexander on Saturday in the Rumble at the Ridge tournament.
It was the second game of the day for the Lady Wolves (3-0) after knocking off Grayson in the first game.
Against Alexander, Buford used a three-run second inning to grab the lead and hang from there.
Junior Olivia Duncan won her second game in a 24-hour period going the distance for Buford in the circle. Duncan scattered three hits an fanned 10 in six innings.
Sophomore Tavye Borders went 2-for-2 with 4 stolen bases. Freshman Abby McKinnis had an RBI triple, senior Taylor Malvin had a hit and an RBI and Duncan had one hit for the Lady Wolves offense.
Buford will open its Region 8-6A schedule on Tuesday traveling to Dacula.

The Lady Wolves also got a solid performance in the circle on Saturday as sophomore Emma Grace Williams scattered four hits and fanned four in a complete-game effort in the Rumble at the Ridge Tournament.
The Buford offense was led by senior Taylor Malvin, who two hits, including a two-run home run and finished with three RBI. Junior Emma Castorri had an inside-the-park home run and freshman Abby McKinnis had two hits, scored twice, and knocked in a run as well.

Alyssa Wagner and Nikki Harris combined on a two-hitter to lead the Lady Wolves to a victory on Saturday at the Hog Mountain Sports Complex.
Wagner went six innings scattering the two hits and striking out three. Harris pitched a perfect seventh inning to preserve the win. It was the second shutout on the young season for Flowery Branch (3-0) which has allowed just one run so fr on the season.
Casey Beaver had three hits and drove in a pair of runs to pace the Lady Falcons. Abby Gray had two hits and an RBI, Wagner had a hit and an RBI, and Avery Thomas, Harris, and Ciera Poole all had one hit for Flowery Branch.
It was a scoreless game until Branch scored three runs in the third. The Lady Falcons added two more in the sixth.
