One person killed in DUI crash Sunday in Habersham County

One person was killed in a single-vehicle DUI accident on Georgia 17 Sunday evening.

The Georgia State Patrol reports Glenn Corum, 60, of Gainesville, and his passenger, Lillie Ramsey, 51, of Cleveland, were traveling south on Georgia 17 near Fred Pitts Road when the Ford F150 traveled onto the shoulder, struck a driveway ditch, and began to rotate and overturned.

Ramsey died as a result of the crash. Troopers said during the investigation they found that Corum was driving under the influence. Corum was taken to Habersham Medical Center and was released into custody. 

Corum has been charged with homicide by vehicle in the first degree, DUI, and failure to maintain lane.
