A woman from Jackson County was killed Sunday afternoon when she lost control of her motorcycle on Georgia Highway 11/U.S. 129 in Lumpkin County.

Cpl. T.S. Sanders with the Georgia State Patrol post in Cumming said the accident was reported at 4:10 p.m. in the area of Blood Mountain Cove Road.

Sanders said Johnna Carr, 59, was traveling northbound on U.S. 129 on a 2016 Kawasaki ZX1000.

"Carr lost control of her motorcycle and overturned on the roadway," Sanders said in an email statement. "Carr traveled into the oncoming (south) lane of travel and was struck by a vehicle that was traveling south."

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

No charges will be filed in the collision.
