Hart County charges man in 2018 child abuse case

A Canon man faces a felony first-degree cruelty to children charge for his involvement in a 2018 child abuse case.

Denny John Donald, who has been incarcerated since November 2018 on previous drug charges, faces the new charge, Hart County Sheriff’s Office officials announced Wednesday.

The October 2018 incident was reported to the Hart County Sheriff’s Office in February of this year by a police department in Florida that is investigating allegations.

Other allegations in the case currently are being investigated by the Hart County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, according to the sheriff’s office. The investigation is ongoing, and the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services is involved.

Due to the ongoing investigations, further details of the incident have not been released.
