A Nicholson woman is dead after a three-vehicle accident in Athens on Saturday.
According to the Athens-Clark County Police Department’s Facebook page, the accident occurred on Jefferson River Road at South Ridge Drive, when a passenger car pulled into the path of a pick up truck. The two made contact, sending the truck sliding out of control and into the path of an oncoming SUV.
The SUV struck the truck in the passenger side. A passenger in the SUV, identified as 70-year-old Violet Sprinkles of Nicholson, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Athens Regional Medical Center, where she later passed away.
The driver of the truck, identified as Kevin Cruell of Athens and his passenger, Samantha Jordan of Hull, were both injured, according to the Facebook post. The driver of the car, identified as 59-year-old Floyd Johnson of Athens, was uninjured.
