Flowery Branch woman accused of forging checks belonging to elderly victim

By AccessWDUN Staff

A Flowery Branch woman has been arrested after authorities say she forged checks and used the credit card of an elderly family member without authorization.

Wendy Marie Schwartz, 55, was arrested Wednesday, Feb. 19 at her workplace on McEver Road, according to the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

Detectives said beginning in September 2019 and continuing for six months, Schwartz exploited the 88-year-old female victim. They said Schwartz forged the victim’s checks and had the victim sign her own checks which were made payable to Schwartz. In addition, Schwartz is accused of using the victim’s credit card.

A person with legal authority over the victim’s finances reported the apparent crimes to the sheriff's office on Monday.

Detectives do not know at this point how much money was stolen from the victim.
