Just after lunch today a gas leak evacuated part of the Outlet Mall in Dawsonville. According to Dawson County’s Division Chief for Fire and Emergency Services, Jason Dooley, a contractor putting in fiber optic hit a line inside the complex, evacuating all the surrounding stores, specifically those in the 500 block of suites. Atlanta Gas Light was immediately called to make repairs and business was halted for those stores until they could arrive. Businesses not in that particular area were not impacted.
It was only a short time later that the leak was controlled and all stores were cleared to reopen.
