The Dawson County Government posted a public notice on their Facebook page on Tuesday on the status of their new parks construction.
The government said in the Facebook post that they secured a contract for 2 parks, in Rock Creek and Veterans Memorial, in October 2024. The post noted that they planned for this project to be completed by March 2025.
The parks are now slated to be completed by the week of July 14.
The post went on to explain that Hurricane Helene and then the later spring-turned-summer storms delayed the project.
Along with this, the post explained that local residents needed more time to collect items that were donated for the park. This, as well as other “uncontrollable variables” is said to have pushed its completion to July by the post.
